Neville National Honor Society Application

Membership in the Neville National Honor Society is described below. If you feel you meet all of the requirements, please apply, using the link at the bottom of the qualifications, no later than 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Late Applications will not be accepted. 

 Article 2—Membership

Section 1. Membership in this chapter shall be based upon scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

Section 2. Membership of this chapter shall be known as active and graduate. The graduate members have no vote. Active members become graduate members at graduation.

Section 3. To be eligible for election to membership in this chapter, the candidate must have been in attendance for a period equivalent to one semester in this school.

Section 4. Candidates eligible for election to this chapter must be members of the sophomore, junior, or senior class. Candidates eligible for election to the chapter shall have a minimum scholarship average*. This scholastic level of achievement shall remain fixed, and shall be the required minimum scholastic level of achievement for admission to candidacy. All students who can rise in scholarship to or above such standard may be admitted to candidacy for election to membership. Their eligibility shall then be considered on their service, leadership, and character. 

*All juniors and seniors may apply, who have no referrals within the last year, and who have a cumulative grade point average in the TOPS Core Curriculum of 3.3 or better by the beginning of the second semester of their junior year and seniors, not already members, who have a 3.3 average or better by the beginning of the second semester of their senior year shall be eligible to be considered for membership according to the procedure outlined for membership below. Sophomores, who have no referrals within the last year, must have a cumulative grade point average in the TOPS Core Curriculum of a 3.5 or better by the beginning of the second semester of their sophomore year.  Students must maintain a 3.3 average each grading period to retain membership as specified in the National Constitution. Having met the above scholarship requirements, a student is then rated by the teachers on Leadership, Service, and Character in order to establish final eligibility for membership as stated in the Neville National Honor Society Constitution and Bylaws.

A student’s GPA does not guaranteed membership in the Neville National Honor Society.
