Principal's Message

Welcome to Neville High School--Home of the Neville Tigers!

Neville High School enjoys an enduring tradition of excellence in academics, arts, and athletics. Since 1931, our school has educated Monroe's finest students, and today we offer students opportunities for dual enrollment credits and Advanced Placement coursework in English, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign language, technology, and the arts.  Recent graduates have gone on to continue their academic pursuits at numerous state and national institutions of higher education, including LSU, ULM, ULL, LaTech, Tulane, Baylor, Rice, The University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, SMU, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Harvard, MIT, NYU, and TCU.

Our students have the chance to participate in over twenty co- and extracurricular activities. Our marching and concert bands perform at athletic and cultural events.  The Quiz Bowl team prepares for regional and state competition. Our Varsity Debate team routinely returns from tournaments with a host of honors.  Neville students represent our school each year at the Louisiana Youth and Government Association, often campaigning for office.  In March, a group of students will travel to England and France and the foreign language department travels every other year on cultural tours of the places they study in English, social studies, and foreign language courses.  National Honor Society inducted over forty new members in February, and our Renaissance Association recognizes the scholarship and character of our hardest working students.  Our visual artists show their works annually in the Monroe City Schools Talented Art competition.  One of our artists earned 2015 Best of Show!

On the playing fields, our Neville Tigers will not be surpassed.  With twenty-six teams in ten sports and sport-specific physical education classes in eight of those sports, students have ample access to developing their athleticism.  We celebrate recent state championships in football and girls' tennis and anticipate strong showings in 2015-16.  We will again host the state tennis championship in 2016 and co-host the Trey Altick Baseball Tournament, as well as the Polar Bear Classic Softball Tournament.  We are very proud of the upgrades to our athletic facilities which include the turf field and new track in Bill Ruple Stadium, state-of-the-art planning and training facilities in Charlie Brown Fieldhouse, Trey Altick-Thomas Stephens Locker Room and, this fall, the Player Development Center at Embanato Baseball Field.

At Neville High School, we want every student to succeed and thrive.  We welcome current and prospective parents to contact us for information regarding our programming, to schedule school tours or meetings with appropriate staff members.  Neville High School--Excellentia Omnibus!

"Neville High School's mission is to inspire, educate, and motivate students to achieve excellence and become productive citizens."
