The common person wore the finest pieces of jewelry. D. Most jewelry was made of copper and pieces of glass and marble.

Answers

The answer would be B because all of their jewelry was personalized If they wanted to, like King and queens putted symbolic images in theirs!!

It can be C because common people barely used jewelry and neither can it be D because most of their jewelry was made out of gold or expensive materials and that is why common could not afford it.

And it can not be A because their jewelry was full of hieroglyphics which is how we know so much about their past so the clear choice in this is B.

What is exposure in photography?

Answers

In photography, exposure is the amount of light per unit area (the image plane illuminance times the exposure time) reaching a photographic film or electronic image sensor, as determined by shutter speed, lens aperture and scene luminance. Exposure is measured in lux seconds, and can be computed from exposure value (EV) and scene luminance in a specified region.
In photography, exposure is used to mean two things. Photograhic films or sensors have a certain sensitivity. That means that a certain amount of light needs to be able to reach the film or sensor, before the image is correctly exposed. An exposure can also refer to a photo exposed that way.

Baroque music was often composed for a specific event or to honor a specific person. Can you think of any musical pieces today that honor a specific person or event? Do you think this is a common feature of music today? Why or why not? What effects did this have on Baroque music? PLEASE HELP FAST

Answers

Final answer:

Modern music, like Baroque music, can be composed to commemorate events or honor individuals. However, it may not be as common now due to a more commercialized music industry. For Baroque music, this practice influenced the style and structure of pieces.

Explanation:

Just like Baroque music was often composed to honor a specific person or event, we can find examples of this in modern-day music as well. For instance, many artists create songs dedicated to social movements or to commemorate important events. An example of this could be the surge of songs created to honor the ratification of the 19th Amendment in the 'Lady Composer Commissions' referenced in the text above.

Another aspect relates to the creation of music for specific individuals or groups. Just like in the Baroque period, composers today sometimes compose music as a tribute to a specific person - such as the unfortunate trend of 'tribute songs' following the death of a celebrity.

However, it is arguable if it is still a common feature of music today. Since the modern music industry is more commercialized and market-driven, the focus is more on creating music that appeals to a wide audience.

In terms of Baroque music, composing for a specific purpose or person often drove innovations and specific stylistic choices as it was a way for musicians to stand out and gain favor with wealthy patrons or the church. It gave pieces a clear purpose and context, which heavily influenced the feel and structure of the music.

What is believed to be the purpose of the Woman from Willendorf?

Answers

The Woman from Willendorf, or Venus of Willendorf, is believed to be a prehistoric representation of fertility, emphasizing reproductive and nurturing aspects of women. Made around 28,000 to 25,000 BC, it reflects spiritual beliefs about motherhood and fertility.

The Woman from Willendorf, also known as the Venus of Willendorf, is a prehistoric figurine that was made between 28,000 and 25,000 BC. This figurine is thought to have been associated with spiritual beliefs about motherhood or fertility. The features of the figurine, such as its pronounced breasts and pubic area, and the traces of red ochre pigment, suggest that it was not a portrait of a specific individual but rather a symbolic representation of fertility, reproduction, and child-rearing functions of women in Paleolithic societies.

The absence of detailed facial features suggests the figurine represents a more universal concept rather than being a depiction of a specific person. Scholars have theorized that the emphasis on certain anatomical features of the Woman from Willendorf indicates a function related to fertility, considering the sculpture's exaggerated reproductive and nurturing attributes.

Stacking a major third on top of a minor third forms a minor triad, which comprises a root, a minor third, and a perfect fifth. The correct option is: B. minor.

When a major third is stacked on top of a minor third, the resulting chord is a minor triad. A major third interval consists of four semitones, while a minor third consists of three semitones.

In Western music theory, stacking these intervals from the root note creates a triad with a root, a minor third, and a perfect fifth from the root, which is the definition of a minor triad. This is different from a major triad, which is formed by a major third followed by a minor third, and from a diminished or augmented triad, which has altered fifths.

what was a more important goal of early artists than realistic representation

Answers

Final answer:

Early artists valued conveying deeper meanings, emotional impact, and social commentary over realistic representation. They used art to challenge stereotypes, present personal narratives, and question the nature of art and technical skill.

Explanation:

The primary goal of early artists was often not to achieve realistic representation, but to convey deeper meanings, symbolism, and personal or cultural narratives through their work. In nonrepresentational art, artists used forced perspectives and idealization to express concepts rather than to depict naturalistic scenes. Likewise, in movements such as realism, emphasis was placed on depicting contemporary life and everyday occurrences, challenging prior art that focused on historical, religious, and mythological subjects. Furthermore, many artists aimed to comment on their society, including challenging stereotypes and colonial narratives, or representing the impact of various religions on art. This was a move away from the academically upheld belief that art is only about beauty and historical themes.

In the modern era, artists like Braque and Picasso shifted focus from technical skill towards sparking a discussion on the nature of art itself, often incorporating 'fake' elements to force this conversation. In doing so, they highlighted the role of artistic expression over realistic representation. In summary, early artists often valued emotional impact, intellectual inquiry, social commentary, and innovative techniques over precise mimetic depiction.

Final answer:

Early artists often prioritized conveying symbolism, emotional effect, or spiritual ideals over realistic representation. Movements like nonrepresentational Islamic art and 19th-century Realism sought to evoke thoughts and depict contemporary realities, respectively, while later artists emphasized inner experiences and original visions.

Explanation:

An important goal of early artists was often not the realistic representation, but other objectives like conveying symbolism, emotional effect, or conveying spiritual ideals. In the Islamic art tradition, for example, there was a focus on nonrepresentational styles, which avoided the accurate depiction of the human form due to religious beliefs. Instead, artists idealized subjects or used art to bring a person to mind without precisely representing them. In contrast, the 19th-century Realism movement depicted everyday contemporary life, aiming to show the world as it was, with a focus on the modern cities and their gritty realities. This movement, alongside others, aimed to make art more accessible and relevant to a growing bourgeois audience. Meanwhile, diverging from the Royal Academy's principles, artists also explored the subordination of realism to express inner experiences, using distortion of form for emotional effect and prioritizing the original and visionary over the technically skilled representation.
