Two scientists do not agree on which type of grocery bag is better for the environment

Answers

Answer:

The outcome would be one bag over the other because they would use science to disprove the others argument.

Explanation:

Ok... is this what modern science has come to?

Answer:

Option D Gather more evidence before reaching the conclusion

Explanation:

Several factors might influence the scientists to disagree. For example, one of the reasons could be the safety of the bags. The first one might argue that plastic bags pollute the environment. The second one might argue that plastic bags are not harmful at all.

The other scientists may argue that plastic bags are non-biodegradable and therefore pollute the environment and cause many problems. The other one may argue that plastic bags are now biodegradable. So, the best way is to gather evidence before establishing the correct point.

what did darwin research? what did he conclude?

Answers

Answer:

The diversity of species

Explanation:

Darwin investigated the diversity of species by observing the physical differences between them. He concluded that all the species came from the same ancestor in common. And that the evolution is given by natural selection (or adaptation to the environment). Only specimens more adapted to the environment could survive, reproduce and pass their genetic traits to their offspring.

For example, the long neck of the giraffes is due to the fact that only the highest ones reached the leaves of the trees for food and with that they managed to survive.

Describe two continuing sources of stress at this time in your life. For each source of stress, propose a specific problem-focused or a specific emotion-focused coping strategy that is likely to effectively reduce your stress.

Answers

The two main continuous sources of stress in my life are :

1: To excel in exams in best grades in class

2: The insufficient time i think i have for the great preparation of exams

When we talk about problem solving mechanisms, they are two. The first one is problem-focused solving in which we try our best to eliminate the source of stress from our life. The second one is emotion-focused solving in which we cope with the problems that cannot be eliminated.

Solution in my cases:

Being a topper of the class i am always expected to perform best by my family and friend and somehow it is my own main desire too. However, with the rising level of study competition in our society the pressure to perform best is becoming more like a continuous stress for me.

I used one technique from emotion-focused coping to cope with both of these two stresses i mentioned.

This technique is called Practicing discipline

Since i have a time management issue where i cannot give enough time to each course i have made a disciplined habit to follow the schedule i make. This schedule forces me to give some hours to each subject and when the alarm rings even if there is work remaining from one course i shut it down and start the second course. In this way mostly i keep the time factor in my mind and eliminate all distracting thoughts from my mind and complete each course' work in the definite time period i have assigned in schedule. This way my both stresses get relatively low.

Surface currents are a result of all of the following except
the moon’s gravitational pull
shape of the ocean basins
global wind patterns
Earth’s rotation

Answers

Answer:

the moon’s gravitational pull

Explanation:

Surface currents are a result of all of the following except the moon’s gravitational pull.

Surface currents are created by "global wind patterns", Earth's rotation, and the shape of ocean basins, but not by the moon's gravitational pull, which instead affects tides.

Surface currents in the ocean are a result of several factors, but not the moon's gravitational pull, which primarily affects tides rather than surface currents. The main drivers of surface currents include global wind patterns, Earth's rotation, which contributes to the Coriolis effect, and the shape of ocean basins. These currents are responsible for distributing heat around the planet and have a significant influence on the climate. It is the tides that are affected by the moon's gravity, whereas surface currents are influenced by other factors.

What do the numbers 3 and 4 refer to in 3NH4?

Answers

Answer: 3 nitrogen atoms and 12 hydrogen atoms

Explanation: In a chemical equation, number represents the atoms present. Number at the base of the atom must be multiplied with the number written at the first atom for example 3NH4 so here for Hydrogen 4 is multiplied with 3 i.e. 12Hydrogen but for first atom Nitrogen only 3 is there so 3 nitrogen and 12 Hydrogen is present.

what does it mean that a hypothesis must be falsifiable in order to be valid

Answers

Answer:

It means that a hypothesis must be able to be rejected by the experiment proposed.

Explanation:

In science, a hypothesis can either be supported or refuted after conducting an experiment. No hypothesis will be valid unless there is a possiblility for it to be refuted by the experiment.

Answer:

It means that a hypothesis could only be considered true or false, not from its verifiability, but from its falsifiability

Explanation:

The scientific observation is always oriented previously by a hypothesis to be proven, that is, the science that is based on the inductive method selects the phenomena that will be investigated for the proof of something that is already supposed. For this reason, the verifiability criterion will not always be valid.

Hypotheses that offer no possibility of being refuted through experience should be considered as myths, not as science. To say that a scientific hypothesis must be falsifiable empirically means to say that a scientific theory must offer the possibility of refutation - and, if refuted, should not be considered.

How do you extract the oil from the fruit of the Tung tree?

Answers

Answer:

Tung oil is made from pressed seeds from the nut of the tung tree. The tung tree, native to China, is named for its heart-shaped leaves because “tung” is Chinese for “heart.” In the 14th century, Chinese merchants were noted for using tung oil to waterproof and protect wooden ships from the eroding powers of the sea. There are even mentions of tung oil appearing in the writings of Confucius in around 400 B.C. For these reasons, it is also sometimes referred to as “China wood oil.

Explanation:

To extract oil from Tung tree seeds, the seeds are either pressed or crushed, or, for more efficiency, a solvent like n-hexane is used. The solvent is then distilled off, leaving the Tung oil. Traditional methods might involve boiling and skimming the oil from the surface.

Initially, Tung fruit is harvested and the seeds inside are collected because the oil is contained within these seeds. The seeds might be dried and then crushed or pressed to release the oil. However, for higher efficiency, chemical solvents such as n-hexane can be used to extract the oil from the seed material. After extraction, the solvent is distilled off, leaving behind the Tung oil, which can then be further processed and purified.

Answer: From birth to three years old they produce 700 neural connections. A baby has 100 billion neurons. It multiplies to trillions at two years old, most probably at three it would be quadrillions.

Explanation: Babies are born with billions of brain cells, and by the time they are three years old, they have formed trillions of brain connections. This rapid increase in brain connections is a result of the brain's remarkable ability to adapt and change in response to experiences. As babies interact with their environment, engage in play, and receive nurturing and stimulating experiences, their brain cells form new connections, creating a complex network of neural pathways. The exact number of brain connections varies between individuals, but it is estimated that by the age of three, a baby's brain can have trillions of connections. These connections are essential for cognitive development, learning, and the foundation of future abilities and skills.

When you become too cold, your hypothalamus will signal what parts of your body to raise the temperature?

Answers

Answer:

Brain.

Explanation:

When you become too cold, your hypothalamus will signal your brain to raise the temperature.

Answer:

Muscles

Explanation:

The hypothalamus is responsible for maintaining homeostasis.

Homeostasis means to keep the same, constant or to have a balance.

In terms of temperature, humans perform optimally at a body temperature of 37 degrees or 98.6 F. When body temperature rises or increases, the temperature homeostasis is disturbed.

When the body is cold, the hypothalamus which is in the brain, will send signals to your muscles to shiver and move to create warmth and heat. Thus, raising body temperature.

What is a possible effect of an error during transcription?
O
A. The organism will become transgenic.
O
B. The wrong protein will be produced.
O
C. The virus will enter the lytic cycle.
O
D. The DNA will have a missense mutation.

Answers

Answer:

B. The wrong protein will be produced

Explanation:

An error during transcription means that RNA transcript formed is mutated one. In most of the cases proofreading is done in transcription process to eliminate the error but if has not been removed then eventually mutated mRNA will be produced.

According to the central dogma of life, DNA forms RNA transcript, and RNA translates into proteins i.e. DNA code determine the RNA and RNA codes determine the Amino acid sequence on the proteins formed. So, if error during transcription would cause synthesis of mutated RNA, it would ultimately result in the formation of proteins with mutated amino acid sequences, hence its function will be altered too.

Final answer:

An error during transcription can result in the production of the wrong protein, causing potential malfunctions or loss of function in the organism.

Explanation:

An error during transcription can have a significant effect on the protein that is produced. One possible effect is the production of the wrong protein, leading to a malfunction or loss of function in the organism. This can occur if the error alters the codon sequence, causing a different amino acid to be incorporated into the protein chain.

For example, if a point mutation occurs during transcription and changes a codon that codes for a specific amino acid into a codon for a different amino acid, the resulting protein will have a different sequence and structure. This can affect its function and potentially disrupt important cellular processes.

Therefore, option B, which states that the wrong protein will be produced, is the correct answer.

]When the concentration of a substance reaches equilibrium on both sides of a cell membrane, it can continue moving in and out of the cell using ________________.

Answers

Answer:

Active transport

Explanation:

Diffusion occurs when molecules move from an area of high concentration to a low concentration until equilibrium is achieved. This does not require energy because it is a spontaneous process. This also included osmosis when there’s a difference in the concentration of solutions across a semipermeable membrane, water molecules move from the low concentration the  solution to high concentration until the two solutions are isotonic to each other.

To move molecules against a concentration gradient, energy must be expended. In cell this is through the energy of ATP molecules.
