Suppose you cannot remember the names of the teachers you had in junior high school because the teachers you have had since then are getting in the way. This is called _______.
a. proactive interference
b. retroactive interference
c. decay
d. repression

Answers

Answer:

B.

Explanation:

Retroactive Interference can be defined as those interferences in learning when an old task interferes with the learning of the new task. Retro means backward, which suggests that when a new task is learned, old tasks are forgotten.

In the given case, unable to recall the names of the teachers of the junior high school because of the names of other teachers one had since is an example of retroactive interference. One is not able to recall the names of old teachers because the names of new teachers have been stored in the memory which interferes with the recalling of old names.

Thus, the correct answer is option B.

Answers

Answer:

The quotation revealed that the veil has power and that symbolizes something sinister and dark.

Explanation:

In "The minister's black veil" by Nathaniel Hawthorne, The Puritans were a christian protestant sect that came out in England in the early 1600s. Mr.Hooper wears the black veil which can symbolize secret sin and how bad human nature can be, which can represent the secret sin the towns people carry in their hearts or a representation of Mr, Hooper's specific sin. He wears the black veil to hide from the gaze of others and from himself when staring in the mirror.

The story of the telephone’s invention in 1876 is one of hard work, determination, and triumph. Many accounts make it sound like a fairy tale. After all, it has a terrific happy ending in which the hero, Alexander Graham Bell, uses his astonishing new device to transmit the words “Mr. Watson, come here. I want to see you.” However, the true story of how the telephone came to be is not quite as happy as most imagine. In fact, it is not a tale of triumph at all, but one of tragedy. What’s more, the first words ever spoken over a wire could not possibly have been uttered by Alexander Graham Bell, because he was only two years old at the time.

Which quotation from the excerpt presents a counterclaim to the idea that the invention of the telephone was a triumphant event?

For example, if we are talking about the significant inventions of the 20th century, the timeline might look like this:

1903 - The Wright Brothers' first powered flight1928 - Penicillin discovered by Alexander Fleming1947 - Invention of the Transistor1969 - Internet created2007 - Introduction of the iPhone by Apple
