Need help writing a summary (5-7 sentences) about 2 creation myths.

Answers

Answer 1
If you know where they are (most people don't) then it should not be difficult for you to pick your own favorite.

I know only one and I would hate to summarize as a myth. I'm a physics graduate so I find the truest part of creation in Genesis 1 verse 3 where God commands there to be darkness divided into light. It took him a whole day to do this, and rightly so. Physics students are always amazed when they first encounter light: it is so very complicated that it would likely take a day to get all its properties in order. You may want to compare that with one of the other stories of creation to see if they agree on the complexity of light and the turn it takes with darkness and what darkness is exactly.

What is Stage directions?

Stage directions provide important details about the action and connections among objects, persons, and locations in a text. They also provide you with information on the playwright and their creative process.

Shakespeare is known for not giving many stage directions; the only one given credit to him is "Exit stage left, followed by a bear". He didn't need to record the stage directions because he was acting in or directing his own plays.

Tennessee Williams, on the other hand, produced true essay-length stage directions and was wildly prescriptive and incredibly descriptive. Every writer has their own distinctive style, thus it is your responsibility as the actor to understand what these directions entail and how to apply them to the stage.

Therefore, To establish the time period, to describe a character’s thoughts, to build the setting.

Are the words desirable and objectionable antonyms, synonyms, or homonyms? Please help me ASAP

Answers

I think they’re both antonyms and synonyms. Not sure though.

Final answer:

The words 'desirable' and 'objectionable' are antonyms, meaning they have opposite meanings. It's important to consider word choice for appropriateness in text, accounting for both denotative and connotative meanings.

Explanation:

The words desirable and objectionable are antonyms, which means they have opposite meanings. Desirable refers to something that is wanted or wished for as being attractive, useful, or necessary, while objectionable refers to something that is likely to cause disapproval or to be offensive. When choosing words for your text, consider both the denotative (literal) and connotative (emotional or cultural) meanings to ensure appropriateness for your audience. If you are unsure about a word's fit in your text, consider if there is an alternative word that conveys the meaning more accurately.

Explanation:

Final answer:

Effective presentations require easy-to-read fonts, preparation for speaking anxiety, careful use of slides for meeting records, clear content with concise points, appropriate visual aids like electronic boards, proper background design, and an understanding of the audience's visual processing abilities.

Explanation:

Understanding Effective Presentation Techniques

When selecting fonts and typefaces for a slideshow, it is crucial to choose font sizes that are easy to read from anywhere in the room to ensure your content is accessible to the entire audience. Dealing with speaking anxiety effectively does not involve concentrating on your nervousness; instead, techniques like taking deep breaths and having your opening line ready can help. While electronic slides offer several benefits, they are not specifically designed to record points made during meetings. Content for text slides should be concise; avoid lengthy, descriptive titles and limit content to manageable amounts, typically around 40 words, while focusing on one thought or concept per slide.

Various types of visuals like electronic boards and whiteboards can effectively capture meeting discussions and allow for distribution via print or email. An accountant, like Leif from a dog food company, should opt for a simple background slide with the company’s logo to maintain professionalism when presenting financial statements. Utilizing text slides in electronic presentations is ideal for summarizing and previewing messages, but not for displaying charts or comparing concepts. To avoid losing audience engagement, presenters like Amanda should not read directly from the slides but create slides with concise points and supplement them with graphs to enrich the presentation.

Adapting graphs for slides involves reducing unnecessary detail and ensuring clarity by using complete numbers and avoiding clutter. Visual aids are powerful because they cater to the visual nature of human information processing, helping to emphasize and clarify the speaker’s message. To that end, delivering an attractive presentation with consistent visual style, organized content, multimedia elements, and considering accessibility ensures that the presentation is effective and engaging.

what is sylvia's reaction when she first hears the stranger's whistle? On the story a white heron

Answers

Sylvia is a child who is different than other children. She tries to find solace in the Maine wilderness. She is walking along in the woods when she hears the whistle for the first time. She does not see where the whistle is coming from, and does not see the hunter, himself. She knows animal and bird sounds and, when she hears his whistle, she is immediately scared or alarmed. She is a child who has been terrorized by other children and who avoids people because she doesn't interact with them well, and has a hard time making friends. When she hears the whistle she knows that it is NOT a bird's whistle she is hearing and therefore it is coming from a person. This is something that is terrifying to her because a person could be an "enemy" or someone who could harm her, which is a great source of anxiety and fear. Sylvia is a person who is afraid of people. Her friends are the animals and creatures in the woods. They are where she finds comfort and security.
According to the book, when she hears the whistle she is "horror-stricken". She is afraid of people, especially boys after she has been tormented by a boy at school. It is natural, then, that a young girl who is afraid of people and afraid of young boys in general, would be scared when she heard the whistle of a boy she doesn't know in a place where she generally feels safe and secure. It would be natural for her to see whoever the boy was as an enemy.
Final answer:

In 'A White Heron,' Sylvia's reaction to the stranger's whistle isn't directly stated, but it's likely she was surprised and curious, considering her rural lifestyle. However, this eventually leads to internal conflict about revealing the white heron's nest.

Explanation:

In the story "A White Heron" by Sarah Orne Jewett, Sylvia's reaction when she first hears the stranger's whistle is not specifically described. However, based on the descriptions of the story, we can infer that she might be curious and surprised as she is not used to hearing such sounds in her country-life living. The story takes us through her journey with the stranger and her internal struggle of whether to show him the heron's location. This story represents the classic theme of nature versus industrialization.

Answers

It is easy to spot Antigone’s flaw in the character of an antagonist one believes to be dead wrong. Her hubris is self-centeredness, but it is a subtle flaw. She has indeed discovered a great truth.

Her story reminds us, however, of how difficult it is to recognize hubris in our heroes or in ourselves. Upon the discovery of a certain truth, there is a great temptation to believe one has access to all truth. To say it in traditional religious terms, it is a weakness of human beings to believe that, once they have access to one of God’s truths, they know the full mind of God.

Creon is also guilty of hubris, the same kind of self-certainty. The difference between them is that Creon is able to see his error.

why 16 year old should not drive

Answers

As a 16-year-old in America, I can’t always do the things I want to do, and I can’t always make my own choices. This comes as a result of the community around me, whether at the local, state or national level, deeming what is appropriate for those my age. Bearing in mind the unavoidable tendency for youths to come alongside imperfect judgement and poor decision making, adults have determined which activities should not be left up to teenager’s discretions. Some have been legally declared too risky, too likely to lead to negative consequences or potential hazard.

Hope this helps!!!

Final answer:

16-year-olds should not drive due to lack of experience, immaturity, and increased accident risk.

Explanation:

The minimum driving age varies from state to state in the United States, but in general, 16-year-olds are not allowed to drive without supervision or a special permit. This age restriction is in place for several reasons:

Lack of experience: At 16, most teenagers have limited driving experience and are still developing their skills behind the wheel. They may be more prone to making mistakes or not being able to handle unexpected situations on the road.

Immaturity and impulsiveness: Research has shown that the teenage brain is still undergoing significant development, particularly in the areas responsible for decision-making and impulse control. This can lead to risky behavior while driving, such as speeding or distracted driving.

Increased risk of accidents: Statistics consistently show that young drivers, especially those in their early years of driving, are at a higher risk of being involved in traffic accidents. The combination of inexperience, immaturity, and impulsiveness increases the likelihood of accidents.

Dear Sir/Madam,

We wish to forward our matter regarding the bathroom facilities in Children's Park near M.G road. Due to the park's central location, after school, our neighborhood children spend many hours playing in the park, by playing on the types of equipment installed in the park. They often use the park bathroom being convenient for them.

As we visited the facilities this Evening and were petrified to see their state. The toilet is broken by the vandals, thus over the bared sewer leaving the gaping hole. The children claim it has been that way for months. The graffiti is horrifying. Until something is done, the bathroom is definitely unhygienic for our neighborhood kids.

Please, either close the facility or fix it immediately. It presents a clear threat to public health, and the pollution it represents. We the residents of society ask that your office take fast action. We will be happy to hear from you as soon as possible and cooperate along.
