Which word most precisely describes the alligator?

Answers

The answer would have to be the third option "huge." When I was a kid, my family rented a small house Florida. One day, just as the sun rose above the trees, we walked down the path and realized our way was blocked by a fallen tree. As we approached, the tree moved. This was no tree, this was a huge alligator. We had seen small alligators now and then, but nothing like this.

QUESYION:- Even after weeks of thought, he just didn't know how to ______ his wrong.

ANSWER:- PROVE .

HOPE YOU LIEKD.

Answering the question, “even after weeks of thought, he just didn't know how to right his wrong”

Let take a look at the sentence: ''Even after weeks of thought, he just didn't know how to_____his wrong.'' After the comma, It is seen that what is missing in the sentence is the verb ''right''.

Further Explanation

In the question asked, there is the use of the phrase ''right the wrong'' with the omission of right. 'Right the wrong' is a common phrase that means to correct something bad that had been done earlier before the present time. So, to correct a situation, one may decide to make amends.

This amends means "right the wrong''. For instance, if you have offended a close friend of yours so badly that you feel you need to make amends, you may then right the wrong by making the situation better regardless of what he had done.

However, in "...he just didn't know how to___his wrong,'' the pronoun, 'he,' is the subject while 'right' is the appropriate verb. “Right” is the correct option because it rightly expresses the meaning of the sentence. And so, with effusion of 'right,' the sentence becomes:

"Even after weeks of thought, he just didn't know how to right his wrong.''

Answers

Spending money in the fast food industry can be harmful because it supports illegal usage of drugs in food and genetically modified organisms. Say you purchase a burger from McDonald's; the beef used could have been real at the time, but when more and more people begin purchasing burgers, and they don't have enough beef to supply, they will create more. The company may begin using illegal growth hormones to make a cow larger and bulkier, or genetically modifying cows to make them larger. Not only does purchasing items in the fast food industry support illegal activities, but the usage of hormones and drugs could harm you as well. You would never know what happened in the creation of that burger, but you do know that it tastes good.

Those who eat fast food on a consistent basis tend to lead an unhealthier lifestyle, not to mention the negative effect it has on their bank accounts. A typical meal at a fast food restaurant costs around $10. If you were to eat out an average of two times a day, you’d be spending approximately $140 a week on fast food alone. An individual who grocery shops and cooks for oneself can easily cut those costs to around $50 per week. That’s a total savings of $90 per week and $360 per month!

Answer:

What happens to the doctor Lanyon in chapter 6 of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is that he gets ill and dies.

Explanation:

Lanyon, Utterson and Jekyll were great friends. They had begun to meet again and everything in their lives seemed calm.

After having been meeting for two months, the lawyer was denied entry to Dr. Jekyll's house.

Later, he decided to go to Lanyon’s house. He appeared to be mortally ill, and he was really mad at Jekyll. He said he never wanted to hear from him again. After that meeting, Lanyon dies in less than a fortnight.

The reason why Lanyon became ill was because he could not bear to see the transformation of Jekyll, so much so that he internalized his pain becoming a physical illness that led to his death.

Which sentence in this excerpt from Leo Tolstoy's The Death of Ivan Ilyich shows that Ivan Ilyich's son is still innocent and uncorrupted, despite the people around him?

Their daughter came in in full evening dress, her fresh young flesh exposed (making a show of that very flesh which in his own case caused so much suffering), strong, healthy, evidently in love, and impatient with illness, suffering, and death, because they interfered with her happiness.
Fedor Petrovich came in too, in evening dress, his hair curled a la Capoul, a tight stiff collar round his long sinewy neck, an enormous white shirt-front and narrow black trousers tightly stretched over his strong thighs. He had one white glove tightly drawn on, and was holding his opera hat in his hand.
Following him the schoolboy crept in unnoticed, in a new uniform, poor little fellow, and wearing gloves. Terribly dark shadows showed under his eyes, the meaning of which Ivan Ilyich knew well.
His son had always seemed pathetic to him, and now it was dreadful to see the boy's frightened look of pity. It seemed to Ivan Ilyich that Vasya was the only one besides Gerasim who understood and pitied him.
They all sat down and again asked how he was. A silence followed. Lisa asked her mother about the opera glasses, and there was an altercation between mother and daughter as to who had taken them and where they had been put. This occasioned some unpleasantness.
Fedor Petrovich inquired of Ivan Ilyich whether he had ever seen Sarah Bernhardt. Ivan Ilyich did not at first catch the question, but then replied: "No, have you seen her before?"
"Yes, in Adrienne Lecouvreur."

In the story The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant, Mathilde Loisel borrows a diamond necklace from her friend Madame Forestier for a ball. After the ball, Mathilde discovers that the necklace is missing. M. Loisel, her husband, suggests that they should replace the necklace with a replica to avoid confessing the loss to Madame Forestier. They spend a significant amount of money and time to find a necklace that closely resembles the original one. This decision leads to a series of financial sacrifices and years of hard work to repay the debt they incurred from purchasing the replacement necklace. 1 paragraph on what makes you happy and what makes you angry

Answers

This one is an easy question...people. People make me angry and happy very easy.

Angry : What angers me the most is how society has bred a type of "me" person. A major percentage of people (can't say everyone) go about their day paying little to no regard to the world around them. I mainly see this when I'm driving as people are preoccupied with their phones, driving 10 mph under the speed limit on the highway or 10 over in a residential area (THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!) This is just one example. I don't want to give too many because is 7 a.m. and I don't want to start off they day being angry :D

Happy : Just seeing a genuine smile on a face make me happy. Taking away from the anger part, there are so many people who put on a fake smile because they have to, usually work related. I will say though, one time I had to make a "last" payment on our rent(once we moved, the housing agency said last payment should have been taken out and we would not have to worry about making payment...I know how that goes in real life) that was bit over $1,000. The frustration of having to wait on the phone for a representative to make a payment the agency should have had already taken out, is a common practice seen but the experience went by pretty smooth because the representative was understanding, kind, and respectful. This right here can make someone feel good about making a "last payment".

Why does the radio version of The War of the Worlds include an interview with the U.S. secretary of the interior?

Answers

To make the broadcast seem more credible

There was no intention of making the radio version seem real but only realistic

Answer:

There is an interview with the U.S. secretary of the interior in the radio version to make the play more realistic and also to set that the events were happening on American soil.

Explanation:

The radio version was an adaptation of the novel with the same name written by H.G. Wells, the adaptation was made by Orson Welles and was broadcast on 1939. Some differences between the novel and the radio version were the place of the events and the tense in which they were told. I believe that Orson Welles added the interview to make clear the difference I mentioned before.

Firstly by interviewing an actor that represents the U.S. secretary of the interior, he was clarifying that the action took place on American soil. And last but not least the live interview showed that the actions were taken place at that same time so it was in the present tense, unlike the novel that is written in the past tense.
