The Wanderer and Sir Gawain have different personalities, even though they come from different old poems.

Both men have been forced to leave their home countries. The Wanderer left on his own, and Sir Gawain has to leave because of a promise he made.

The Wanderer is looking for someone in the meadhall who knew his family. Sir Gawain doesn't want to take the Green Knight's challenge. He is very scared for his life. In the end, he agrees to protect King Arthur's life and honor.

The Wanderer is shown as a lonely and sad person who is struggling with the feeling of losing his leader and family. His personality represents the feeling of being alone, which is the main theme of loneliness in the poem.

On the other hand, in the story "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight," Sir Gawain is shown as a brave and honorable knight who goes on a daring adventure to meet the Green Knight. Gawain is known for being loyal, brave, and following the rules of chivalry.

Both the Wanderer and Gawain have difficulties, but the Wanderer's struggles come from the temporary and uncertain nature of living on Earth. On the other hand, Gawain faces threats that are supernatural and come from outside sources.
